Built as the Martin Beck in 1924. Home to the New York premieres of Mme. Pompadour in 1924 (Fall, Berlin 1922), and Happy End (Brecht, Hauptmann, and Weill, Berlin 1929). The latter had to wait till 1977.

Home to the New York premieres of The Merry Widow in 1907 (Lehár's Die lustige Witwe, Vienna 1905), The Spring Maid in 1910 (Reinhardt’s Die Sprudelfee, Vienna 1909), The Love Cure in 1909 (Eysler’s Künstlerblut, Vienna 1906), Madame Sherry in 1910 (Felix, Berlin 1902, recomposed by Hoschna, 1910), The Count of Luxembourg in 1912 (Lehár, Vienna 1909), Eva in 1912 (Lehár, Vienna 1911), My Little Friend in 1913 (Straus’s Die kleine Freudin, Vienna 1911), Maids of Athens in 1914 (Lehár’s Das Fürstenkind, Vienna 1909), Miss Springtime in 1916 (Kálmán’s Die Faschingsfee, Vienna 1917, originally Zsuzsi kisasszony, Budapest 1912), and The Riviera Girl in 1917 (Kálmán’s Die Csárdásfürstin, Vienna 1915).

Built as Erlanger’s Theatre in 1927. It became the St James in 1932. Home to revivals of The Chocolate Soldier (Straus's Der tapfere Soldat, Vienna 1908) in 1931 and 1934.
